Unlocker is a free utility which gives you the power to delete undeletable files in Windows 7 and Windows XP. As we’ve covered before, you could unlock and remove files with Resource Monitor in Windows 7, but if you are a lazy guy like me, Unlocker is designed for you.
Unlocker is a gem of an application which can find and list all the processes which are currently using the file you desired to delete, you could then close the handle, terminate them and delete the file. It’s especially useful when you are trying to delete a vicious software manually, such as a virus, rootkit, trojan, etc. With this utility you do not need to boot into safe mode or boot from rescue disk to delete a file anymore.
Unlocker can be used to resolve the following issues:
- Cannot stop usb drive.
- There has been a sharing violation.
- The file is in use by another program or user.
- Cannot delete file: Access is denied.
- Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
Unlocker supports Windows 7( 32bit & 64bit ), Windows XP / Vista / 2000 / 2003.
