There are times when you need to convert your favorite videos or audios to a popular audio format such as mp3, for obvious reasons, most of us are fond of a free, flexible and comprehensive solution rather than the dedicated and paid ones.
KMPlayer is a free all-in-one video and audio player which gives you the opportunity to play almost every possible video and audio formats such as mp3, mp4, 3gp, flv, wav, flac, midi, amr, wma, wmv, avi, etc. Besides that, it allows you to capture the audio or video stream and save it to an external file.
Once installed, run KMPlayer and open your media file, then press the “Alt + A” key combination to bring up the “Audio capture” dialog, choose “Audio encode 1″ and “MP3 Encoder v1.2″ respectively.
Then you can hit the “…” button to tweak the quality of the output mp3 file: Mode( CBR, VBR default, VBR old, VBR new, VBR mtrh, ABR ), Channel( Joint Stereo, Stereo, Multi-Channel, Mono ), Bitrate( 128kbps, 160kbps, 192kbps, 224kbps, 256kbps, 320kbps, etc. ) and Quality( Normal, Low, High, Voice, R3mix, Very High, etc. ).
If you choose the “Audio encode 2″ option, it will display “need lame_enc.dll, lamedll.dll in plugins folder” and won’t allow to set the bitrate of the output mp3 file, even if you’ve already copied “lame_enc.dll” and “lamedll.dll” to the “plugins” folder.
